Do you believe in the American Dream? Can a person still rise up in American society despite having disadvantages at birth? What is the American dream in 2015? Does it differ from the American dream in 1922?

  1. I do believe in the American Dream. it doesn't matter how someone is born or how they live their life, anyone can live the american dream. The dream is simply becoming successful in the united states, getting money, family, and happiness. This has always been the american dream since the 1920's and it will continue being this throughout time.

  2. The American Dream are the ideas involving being prosperous and successful in society. This would include being wealthy and in the middle to high class in social status. The American Dream is almost thought of as being able to rise up through your hard work and becoming who you want through the freedoms you are allowed with your rights and I believe in this. It is sometimes rooted in the Declaration of Independence such as being equal. “All men are created equal”. Having disadvantages at birth will not stop anyone from obtaining the American Dream. Although it may be a lot harder for someone who does not have the better tools to prosper in society as someone who was born wealthy, through their hard work and dedication they can accomplish anything they want and come out better than their wealthier counterparts. I think the American Dream in 2015 is just becoming successful and living life in happiness with loved ones. It is similar to the American Dream in 1922 because I think despite the time period, anyone would love to live life happy and successful.

  3. The general definition of the American Dream is the ideal that every US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative. Its the reason why many people move to the US. I think this differs from the American dream in 1922 because back then almost everyone was racist and sexist, so to them the American dream was to be rich, have a white picket fence house, with a wife who cooks and cleans all day. I do believe in the American dream because I believe that anyone who wants it bad enough should have the opportunity to do so.

  4. The American Dream consists of people working hard to achieve success. Having disadvantages at birth, like being born to a poor family or in another country should not limit your goals and dreams to be successful. Their are many people today in society that grew up in an impoverished area but are now living their dreams as artist, doctors, scientists, etc. Today the American Dream is to have a great job, a home, a family, and to be happy which is not much different from the American Dream in 1922.

  5. I do Believe in the American dream because although things seem tough in America people still keep immigrating to the U>S because they think that things will be better then where they come from. Yes someone can still rise up although they had disadvantages as they were born because America is a land of hope and if you but hard work into it anything can happen. The American dream now I would say is just to Accomplish what you but your mind on and that would make you happy. The American dream has always revolved around money and wealth

  7. I believe in the American Dream and I also believe that a person can still rise up in American society despite having disadvantages at birth, because they can work really hard to accomplish their goals. The American dream in 2015 is coming to the U.S looking for a better life, a better job to help their families. It differ from the American dream in 1922 because in that time The Great Depression was happening, and the US economy wasn't doing very well and a lot of people didn't have any money to support their family or jobs, the American Dream back then was to be able to find a good job to support their family and have food on their table.

  8. The American dream is all about money, fame, and happiness. I think it was similar back in the 1922 but not entirely, because there were lot of progressive reforms being passed. There was also the great depression to worry about, everyone was literally bankrupt. People lost everything they had, men and women were commiting suicide.None the less the American dream was still the same as it is now ,get money, get happy, and live life.

  9. I do still believe in the American Dream to this day because all kinds of people come to this country from all around the globe just to have a chance at a new or better life for themselves or their possible families.
Someone can rise to the occasion in American Society today because, just like anywhere else in the world, as long as someone is determined and hard working, they can be successful; America just has the resources that aren't offered in some places in the world.
The American Dream in 2015 today is to live a long and successful life according to your own personal terms. Americans usually don't follow the traditional family values,w which is why they're so individualistic.
Back in 1922 people only cared about having as much money as possible and just having a good time.
